endevour
Sometimes it would be appropriate. However, the 'eye for an eye' saying can sometimes be harder to dish out. An example is a few days ago I was listening to radio 4 who reported that a man in Iran was to be blinded by having acid poured into his eyes as punishment or throwing acid in the face of a woman who had shunned his proposal of marraige 7 years earlier. If we start with a good hiding, are we closer to meating out this type of justice also?
Guest sibon
I guess that it depends upon what you are trying to conceal.

Tatman
... is the solution. Often heard said but do you think it really is? It can be a good thing. It can be a harmful thing. It depends on who is dishing it out, to whome and why?

manofstrad
I think it can do some good, I have beaten several members of my staff to keep them in line. The bigger stronger members of staff seem to be capable of keeping themselves in order.
