sues_budgie
It's not theft. You can choose not to own a car. And when you crash into someone else/run over a pedestrian how exactly are you going to afford to pay for their car repairs/ongoing medical care/compensation for injury etc? jb Not my problem I haven't had an accident and I have been driving for 20 years
corner_shop
No if not injured, thats one reason insurance costs are so high these days!
Cyclone
Are you sure you actually understand what 'insurance' means? Or would you be willing to gamble that you never cause an accident and never loose every penny you have to compensate your victim? That's why it's compulsory anyway, even after taking everything you had, it might not be enough to pay the medical bills, or to pay for the supercar you destroyed. Halibut
Not my problem I haven't had an accident and I have been driving for 20 years Yes, it is. Not having had an accident in 20 years is commendable, but it doesn't put you above the law. You choose to drive a car, so you either pay insurance or choose not to, in which case one would hope they'd fine you and destroy your car.
