BritPat
dont you think its right they DO carry on trying to catch murderers no matter how long it takes? how about the other murderers currently being investigated for other crimes? milly dowlers killer for one? Milly Dowler's alleged killer is being tried for the offence, he hasn't been acquitted of the same offence on a previous occasion.
Tatman
How many times should the same person be tried for one crime? Until the jury returns a 'guilty' verdict? In this case, yes. Dont forget its a racially sensitive case so to appease all the pc (no pun intended) lot they will makes sure they get someone for it.

Like the Mounties, the police should "always get their man". It took 31 years for Lesley Molseed's murderer to be brought to book... In the Millie Dowler case, the jury will be privy to evidence that will show whether the accused did, or did not have a hand in her murder... and if it does show this to be fact, then, hopefully he will be sent down for even longer, and will not see the light of day again. melthebell
How many times should the same person be tried for one crime? Until the jury returns a 'guilty' verdict? So the fact he didnt get sent down last time tells you hes still guilty? Nice:rolleyes: does it mean he wasnt guilty? innocent people have been locked up and found to be innocent, im sure guilty people get off with things too im sure we'll find out in due course whether hes guilty or not and what the newist evidence is? im sure guilty people hid behind the double jeopardy law to get off with things, why was it there anyway? surely if your in the frame twice theres more than enough reason to think your guilty? they dont just randomly accuse you twice with no good reason?? Someone else got a life sentence for Lesley Molseed's murder (They can't get it right first time) They then got the right killer HOPEFULLY but he hadn't been acquitted of the offence on a previous occasion. Dont forget its a racially sensitive case so to appease all the pc (no pun intended) lot they will makes sure they get someone for it. so a murderer should get away with murder just cos its a black man? cos as usual your coming across as thats your point, i dont think for an instant theyre choosing anybody purely to convict somebody your sounding more like truthlogic and his stupid conspiracy theories

gnvqsos
How many times should the same person be tried for one crime? Until the jury returns a 'guilty' verdict? If the initial prosecution had ben executed contemporaneously then a verdict would have been secured and the guilty probably still inside for their racist actions. The polise were slow to investigate and the cpp insipid in their attitude, suggesting institutional racism.
