BritPat
What do you think should happen if new evidence comes to light? If the prosecution fails first time it fails ! The defendant in this case has been tried, acquitted despite mass prejudicial publicity and the use of police tactics usually reserved for terrorist/espionage cases e.g the police doing a 'creep' on the defendants home and placing video/audio devices. We now have another bite of the cherry, the original high profile of the case will be further highlighted by the very fact that this is a SECOND trial following acquittal. How many goes should the prosecution get? 2? 3? 10?
BritPat
hed be the first to cry foul if some muslim extremists got off cos of that double jeopardy law I have already answered BF on that one, I disagree with the second trial BF referred to. Get your buccal cavity open wide, grasp your ankle and pull that big red shoe from the gaping chasm.

Longcol
If the Prosecution failed first time they shouldn't have been tried again. I take it you're happy with David Norris being tried in this case - he wasn't tried first time round (Gary Dobson was). http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/may/18/stephen-lawrence-suspects-stand-trial
