I was in Meadowhall last week and thought I saw Dennis Drury. I ought to have said something but wasn't sure.

He’s still knocking about

Doesn’t look any different!!

You should have done Meltman . He’d have known you or definitely someone you know .

Proper sociable guy is old Dennis .

As teenagers a group of us went to a festival down South in the back of his van.
He was honking his horn and waving at folks the length of the A1

Hi Rick,

See if you recognise any of these. Picture was taken from Witherley's drive with our house in the background (No.20).

From left to right I think it's Michael Witherley, Andrew Robinson, Peter Hardcastle, ???, Geraldine Maybe (she lived a couple of doors up from Witherleys).

Note also the Jowett Javelin van in the background.

Recognise all the names except Geraldine.  Could ??? be the lad from the top end of Stonecroft Road who ended up running / working in the chip shop on the Rise in the late-60s?  Can’t think of the name though

Peter Higgins? His Dad took over the chip shop in the mid 60s.

However, I don't think it was him in the picture.

That’s the name!  Worth a try.
