Frohike
The guy with the toy shop chain is talking out of his behind. He sells Star Wars toys, isn't that the story of good vs evil? Isn't that the same of Harry Potter? Why don't these religious cranks realise these stories are just that - stories to entertain.
Karis
Or - he's just some guy trying to capitalise on this story and get a lot more publicity and a bucket load of extra cash in the process...
quisquose
What about english butchers not selling Halal or Kosher meat? mj.scuba's comparison is valid, whilst your's is not. A butcher refusing to stock popular products (ham, bacon, etc) for religious reasons, is little different to a toy shop owner who refuses to stock a popular toy (Harry Potter) for religious reasons. The methods of manufacture and/or distribution did not concern the toy shop owner's decision, nor does it for most shop owners for that matter. Neither did it feature in the discussion between mj.scuba and flamingjimmy.
