nightlight59
You've added the word 'refuse' in there. There are enough ways not to work without directly using the words 'I refuse to work'. Also you wouldn't lose all benefits. Think, child benefit, working tax credit, and proportions of other benefits (when removing the word 'refuse'). As far as im aware you lose all benefits for 6 months including housing benefit,so you might find yourself on the street.
tinfoilhat
I'm sure if you had asked this 15 - 20 years ago it would have been more 75-25 split than 50-50. Nobody wants to work nights for nmw but if I had to I would. When I was in my late teens early 20s and work was short I applied for jobs day or night, and still didn't get half of them, and it wasn't because I was over qualified. Too many people want to just get by, they want if on a plate, hence eastern Europeans doing alot of the factory / hotel work and they'll do it gladly. As sad as it is, and as insensitivly as mr tata put it he has got point nobody will go that extra mile.

I worked for NMW wage loads of time when I was a student and even now I have my qualifications and experiance I would take a job that paid NMW if I could not get any other work, it is the way I have been brought up I suppose. I would rather have something to do and work all hours than be stuck at home with no money
MrCHANG
But working for nmw is not worth while if you have rent and stuff to pay
