shaky99
so when you turn the key, does the engine turn over or, is it completely dead?

shaky99
Then its most likely your starter motor, might even be a poor connection, so might not even cost anything to fix, my old rover does it now and again, i just give the leads on the motor a wiggle and away it goes. An old trick is to have someone tap the starter motor with a hammer whilst you turn the key. have you got a son, brother etc who can check the wires for you? Grandad.Malky
An old trick is to have someone tap the starter motor with a hammer whilst you turn the key. Or rock it back and forward, the car not the starter motor.
