Jew Boy
Unless you were transporting someone to hospital who was in such danger of death that you dare not wait for an ambulance, it's hard to imagine any circumstances in which you would be excused. Nevertheless, and regardless of what I can think of, you're entitled to have your day in court - but beware! For many traffic offences - I'm not sure if speeding is one of them - if you don't admit guilt and pay promptly, the fine doubles. Pleading your case in court might turn out to be expensive if you don't win. It was an emergancy. I was taking someone to hospital and they suddenly became much worse. Seeing an ambulance about 1/4 mile in front of me i decided to catch up and seek help. Do you think this will make a difference?

Tomataheeed
were you involved in any sort of commercial activity when you got flashed? You seem to be suggesting that if you are involved in a commercial activity, you won't be able to plead any mitigation. My best friend's dad used to run a courier company....he got a 93mph in a 30 zone .....and didn't got any points. He had a contract to move blood from hospital to hospital. This was a few years ago though.
GrannyGranny
You need to prove this if required. Did they go to A&E? If so you can get A&E to give you a letter/note to this effect. You still may not be let off. I think the notification has to be sent within 28 days of the offence. You will just have to wait.

Looks as though ill have to wait for the inevitable then hope the courts show some compassion.

HeadingNorth
No way is that allow unless you have police escort The courts are not obliged to impose a points penalty. It's the norm, but not automatic.
selphie
Get proof and have your day in court if you can. It's worth a shot. We got flashed on Penistone Road taking my little one to hospital and met with compassionate judge. There is always the chance that you won't get a ticket. I've also been flashed at the bottom of the parkway and never heard anything.
