epiphany
My housemate has been flashed numerous times and never received anything. Don't worry yourself over it. If you do get something through, write a letter of admission and ask if you could be considered for the speed awareness course as you feel it would have greater long term benefit for you and other road users. You still pay the fine, but no points. Edit: of course that's only if you decide not to take it to court.

foxy lady
Yes, she went to A&E and is still in hospital now. Looks as though ill have to wait for the inevitable then hope the courts show some compassion. If you get your doctor to write a letter confirming your story it is worth writing a letter BEFORE you go to court. It is sometimes possible to get a charge dropped in mittigating circumstances. Beware of telling lies otherwise you will get a minimum 12 months in place of your £70 fine.
redfox
If you follow some of the advice on here things might get very difficult. That said, it would be much better if you prepared yourself for a court hearing sooner rather than later. If you can prove it was a "genuine" emergency, with evidence from the hospital and from the person who you were transporting at least you can decide whats the best course if you get the notice in the post. You will need some exceptional evidence to avoid points, and I am not sure legal aid would be available if you sought legal advice.
crookesey
I would feel a lot better about speed cameras if they were positioned to save lives, rather than to make money. That one below Ecclesall Church is a prime example of a money making camera.

HeadingNorth
I would feel a lot better about speed cameras if they were positioned to save lives, rather than to make money. That one below Ecclesall Church is a prime example of a money making camera. It can only be a money-making camera if a lot of people break the law there. Otherwise it's a money-losing camera. clownaround
No way is that allow unless you have police escort Your right Mr Chang. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1443652/Blood-bank-driver-on-speeding-charge.html although this was afew years ago. Because the drivers are not trained in high speed drivibg they cannot skip red lights or speed. They do have lights on the roof though so that traffic moves out of the way. MrCHANG
You seem to be suggesting that if you are involved in a commercial activity, you won't be able to plead any mitigation. My best friend's dad used to run a courier company....he got a 93mph in a 30 zone .....and didn't got any points. He had a contract to move blood from hospital to hospital. This was a few years ago though. Why do people make up silly storys and post it, doesnt make you look clever:huh:
