Can you remember when the Showroom Cinema first opened?

Recommended Posts

As part of a Screen Yorkshire project we (at the Showroom) are making a short film about the history of the Showroom.

Any information you could give would be extremely helpful, if you would like to participate in the making of the short film, whether it be an interview on or off camera or photos you could contribute or any other information.

Please contact me (:

or if you prefer to email me at:

...quite a few pics on here - http://www.picturesheffield.com/

Just do a search on Leadmill Rd , and Brown St , to find some pics.

As far as i am aware , the building was built on two levels with access from either the above mentioned roads. Originally built and opened in 1936 for Autoways (est1931) . It evolved into other car dealerships including Kennings, Hatfields , although could have been divided into separate sections/buildings in the later years ?

Hope this may help !
