American contribution to the world

Recommended Posts

So avoiding WW3 is what some say regarding Today there are more than 766 US bases scattered across more than 100 countries and hosting more than 250.000 soldiers, in addition to the one million-plus soldiers stationed in the US.

100 countries, which one assumes are threatening the world into a new war? Don't you get it, it has nothing to do with defense, and if so against who? Saddam was not going to invade the usa, not Libya or Iran. If China wanted to destroy the US then it calls in its debt and the country is finished overnight, as no government employee, including soldiers get paid.

Its all about controling resourses not a threat, of did I miss a trick. Isn't propaganda wonderful, it fools most people all of the time!

you haven't got a clue how the nation states' debt works do you. It's not like borrowing a tenner off somebody and then asking for it back. If China decided to dump it's large amount of US govt securities, it would have a massive effect on China itself and definitely wouldn't result in US government employees not getting paid. And what makes you think nobody else would just buy them, as if China is the only country that ever thinks to buy US securities.

How about ice hockey buck? North or south of the border? Your Boston Bruins were veddy, veddy naughty boys taking the Stanley Cup from the Canadians in Vancouver

They werent at all happy about that :hihi:

I am a died in the wool Montreal Canadiens fan. 24 Stanley Cups, and I was fortunate to watch some of them. For me to root for the Bruins would have been sacriligeous. However for the bruins to lose that final game after they had already scored 12 goals in two games against zero for the Canucks it would be very unjust. The way that Vancouver acted after the game was disgusting. Its not the Canadian way. Montreal fans actually applaud good plays by opposing teams.:)

Does anyone else see the irony in the bolded? Why don't you just call him a poopyhead? Some people can say what they want to say in a few words. Not everyone feels the need to waste a week fine tuning an eight paragraph screed.

I realize I've just stuck a big, fat bullseye on myself, but I can't stand your uncalled for nastiness another minute. For pete's sake why?

I'd love to give you a 'token yank' if you're anything like the women in the avatar!

Poopyhead??? P-leeese.

And don't worry you have to be capable of submitting a reasonably coherent argument before I'd consider you worthy of my immeasurable spite. (No fear of that then).

Jeeeeeze! you guys are <removed> scared of people discussing the dark side of America. While we brits don't hesitate to highlight wrongs around the world or in the U.K. or to riot if the ruling 5% go too far.

We (the British government) have apologised to the world for many of our historical crimes - as have Japan, France, Germany et al.

I'll be highlighting some of Americas past and present attrocities shortly - you know I will Harl.

Just for the record Harl I'm not muslim, or a damn --- black person, nor am I gay and ''m a socialist, not a communist. See you soon. XXX

Well I could have said tha tChina has the USA by the short and curlies, as I was attempting to show that the USA is nothing more than a glorified military industrial complex. War is the industry stupid!

I love the USa and how industry and corporations are subsidised at the expense of the ordinary people, a model for how real democracy works, or did I miss another trick?

You haven't got a clue what your talking about and furthemore you reduce the Chinese to your IQ level. China would cause huge damage to it's own economy if it called in the debt losing a whacking great market for it's exports and creating a catastrophe by having to close down facrories and lay off thousands of workers. They know that and that's why they're a lot smarter than you are :D

Dont forget also if the USA goes down so do you and very shortly afterwards considering that the EU is currently and for the foreseeable future in a major debt crisis. Wake up. It's a global economy

I was also surprised at the reaction to the Canuck's loss but the news reports point to a hooligan element who used the occasion to go on a rampage.

As you say it's not the Canadian way and definitely not typical of Vancouver

I would be a happy camper if the US did close down all it's military bases overseas. The money saved could be used for the betterment and greater welfare of the America taxpayer and Europe certainly doesn't need that umbrella of protection that existed during the cold war.

The thousands and thousand of civilian employees wouldn't be very happy to get their pink slips though and the UK and other EU governments alone would see a sizeable increase in their unemployed as well as all those businesses located near the bases either suffering a major shortfall in earnings or even having to close down altogether.

I'm going to assume you mean that in a respectful way. :hihi::nono:

That is me and my daughter in the avatar, I am the darker haired one. My baby is beautiful and we are very proud of her. My boy is also blond but he got his dad's blue eyes. His sister is jealous of those, because she got the dark hispanic eyes.

SUPERTYKE, I don't understand why you do this. You're obviously an intelligent guy. Use your powers for good, not evil. Aren't you interested in talking to people?

I love this forum and when I joined, I had the feeling it would open my eyes as to how the US is regarded at least by our friends across the pond and I have not been disappointed.

And I suppose I don't mind that you called me dumb in a roundabout way, I try to have a thick skin. Wouldn't be the first time. Just don't anyone say anything about my children. :)
