aussieblade
Hi Grinder, Just caught up with your comments re Meers Brook, Rose Cottage, & Cat Lane. I was born in 1942, and lived on Rushdale Road. My best friend, from 1945 til 1964, (when we emigrated to Australia), was Phil Selkirk, who lived in Rose Cottage. I have many wonderful memories of those growing up years, and the times spent mucking about in Cat Lane woods, and up around Earp's farm. Phil & I tickled many a trout, (up to 12inches long),in the brook, and as far down as behind Rushdale terrace. My name is Ed Harvey, and I went to Carfield Primary, then High Storrs. Regards.. grinder
Hi Ed, Those were the days before they built the estate, it was all woods, allotments and farmland down there back then.. You would hardly recognise the area around Rose cottage now it's been civilised....
