Tony Erikson
its funny watching em all twist and turn, the word immigration has such negative connetations for some people You going to answer the question Mel? At what population limit can people legitimately complain about immigration and our current policy? 60, 70, 80, 90 or even 100 million people? That's all I want you to answer for the moment. Tony Erikson
That's the whole point, mel was highlighting a good news story about an immigrant, juxtaposed against the multitude of ones here that aren't-he was playing those people at their own game! Next time I see a thread relating to the bad behaviour of a Muslim/immigrant/asylum seeker..I'll pm you so you can articulate your annoyance that these individuals have been identified as such I label people as people. I don't play the silly game, it fuels division. Why is it OK for Mel to spread division but not say a member of the BNP? Both are equally as vile. Mel I have a few questions in this thread for you. I hope you answer them all. Someone with such strong opinions on people against the current levels of immigration really should explain where they're coming from. Glamrocker
I don't have an agenda, anymore than you do. ..and equally there's often a poster ready to accuse people who challenge their views of having an 'agenda'-advocating right from wrong doesn't seem to be a virtue anymore. Sorry, don't know what this element of your rant means Theres nothing wrong with advocating roght from wrong but when the perceived wrong is pointed out its usually accompanied by the word racist. I have views on immigration and I dont trust the Islam religion, nothing wrong with that Im certainly by no means unique in that respect but to some ,because i am not afraid to highlight those items I am a racist therefore anyone who dares to question the two subjects by default must also be a racist,no middle ground ,full stop..I'll tell you what if that is the case, from the top downwards, there has to be a greater majority of racists in this country than non racists

boyfriday
its funny watching em all twist and turn, the word immigration has such negative connetations for some people Afternoon fella, it does seem to rankle some that you've described this soldier as an immigrant, and perhaps suggests their distaste of the genre generally. Rather than celebrate the fact a foreigner can be patriotic towards his adopted country and have all the virtues of an Englishman, they're more easily aroused by your motivation for posting the thread in the first place, whilst claiming he's a 'mercenary/doesn't actually live here/only lives here because he's stationed here' etc..how far do they want to distance themselves from this individual as UK citizen?! boyfriday
Probably for you thats the case hence the need to use the word Earth to Glamrocker: there's nothing wrong with the 'word', lots of immigrants are lovely people, they're not all loin cloth wearing fuzzy wuzzies, fresh from the jungle and intent on rape & pillage in the shire counties
