Ahh, thats better! Newcastle Brown Ale..

Recommended Posts

I'm still trying to cool down from today so just opened a bottle of 'Newky Brown'. Damn it's a nice drink!

It's also got a pretty funny competition on at the moment as well.

:thumbsup: to a nice cold Newky Brown!

Tea and beer :gag::gag:

But why is it I like Newky Brown?

technically speaking a bottle of Newcastle brown is totally differant from as you call it Newky Brown. The correct term for a bottle of Newcastle Brown is a BOTTLE OF DOG, please if you have not got your Geordie passport don't even think about trying to correct me on this one lol.

ALAN

PS if memory serves me the drink called NEWKY BROWN ALE is served down in the Bristol area on draft.

Are you sure you're not muddling that up with Newquay Steam? (Note spelling btw)

It used to drive me nuts when barstaff in pubs that actually serve the stuff didn't know what a bottle of dog was... Then there were the barstaff who said they can't do you two pints of Newky Brown shandy - because it comes in pint bottles :rolleyes::loopy: one very slow maths lesson later and I'd eventually get the required drinks... except the once when I had to just order two halves of lemmo both in pint glases, and the beer in it's bottle :loopy::roll:

well technically you don't drink shandy :P

the beer floats across the lemmo. You drink it through a straw - lemmo first :D

Everybody in the pub stares at you drinking from what looks like a lavalamp :hihi:
