Cats or dogs for children?

dogs are usually more interactive with children, but if you expect a dog to behave like a stuffed toy and be ragged round by the ears and tail without responding, forget it

 

People don't expect cats to put up with such treatment for some reason :rolleyes:

It depends on the individuals preference - a dog is harder to lok after, as it requires walking etc, and both live 12 years plus, so you have to know the kid really wants one, or that you are prepared to care for the animal if and when the novelty wears off for the kid...
