Feminist protesters vs new Playboy club

Recommended Posts

Money isn't everything, being true to your ideals means so much more. But if this is how you want to do it, go ahead. It makes no difference to me.

Re sleeping with the boss to get a raise, just because some women prostitute themselves to pervy men, doesn't mean you can't get through life as a successful woman, without following their example.

I hope you get a job, it's not easy in the present climate, even with a degree.

But women use male prostitutes all the time. As do gay men. Women use women prostitutes as well. Its not a women only issue..Now is it? :suspect:

1. I've dealt with this question in numerous different posts.

2. This has been addressed several times as not being the same at all, it's a totally different experience.

3. I don't know anything about lesbian strip clubs, however, the patriarchal power dynamic and issues between men and women and the attitudes towards women do not translate onto the lesbian scene.

4. Male escorts again are not the same. Very few women can afford them for a start, they are high end and they are not used solely for sex.

Therein lies the truth. It's OK for men to be oggled and abused, but not women (both entering the "profession" willingly).

Hypocrisy runs rife throughout the "feminist" movement.

My bold - because any woman that takes her clothes off for money can't be that intelligent eh?

And all the bad attitude towards women, it's all them womens fault that take their clothes off for money. Yes let's blame them. Blame the women.

What nice things for a femenist to say. Yes how dare anybody have bad attitudes towards women....oh, er, hang on....

did you actually read the question? I think you've got hold of the wrong end of the stick.

But actually, you know what, trying to debate sensible subjects with a lot of people who are so anxious to reinforce their own prejudices that they can't even read and follow the course of a thread, is a waste of my time. Enjoy having your conversation with yourself.

Blaming women seems to be the men's game on here ... if you care to take off your blinkers.

PS I hate being a pedant, but it's feminist ... :)

I would say they're both as bad as each other, or as good, depending on your opinion. Some women tend to have a victim mentality and claim issues in society as "womens issues" when they're not, they're issues concerning men and women..Some issues may effect women more than men, but to ignore the fact that men dancers are subject to the same "issues" that women are is a bit of a liberty.

If you will not accept this, then your argument just crumbles to dust, because you're not being fair..IMO...

It is not the same at all as we do not live in a climate where sexual harassment and violence against men are part of the fabric of our society, whereas this is the situation for women and furthermore, we are frequently blamed for it, as evidenced by the appallingly low rape conviction statistics and utterly offensive comments like those made by the Toronto police officer. If you cannot grasp this very simple concept then there is no point continuing this discussion with you and that is the crux of the whole issue.

You seem to have lost touch with reality.

See here.

I did. Your rants are becoming more and more rambling.

Seems like you can't accept the simple fact that people are people. Some people go to these clubs (both male and female), some people choose to work in these establishments (both male and female). All do so of their own volition. Just because it's not a career you (or I) would choose, it doesn't make it wrong or a reflection on society.
