Feminist protesters vs new Playboy club

Recommended Posts

If you bothered to listen to what some of the protesters are saying then you will find that they share similar concerns

The why protest outside somewhere (relatively) harmless, when there are far worse places (Private Shop at Rawmarsh, for example) that their energies would be better directed towards?

Because it's simply a case of "do as I wish, not what you wish" from these "feminists". Equality, but only on their terms.

Secondly, the negative effects and impact on the male population at large is not the same.

Probably because we are a bit more mature, and realise that everyone should be free to do whatever they want with their bodies. Unlike these protesters who only want people to do with their bodies that which they deem fit.

Excellent post

Bit repetitive, I thought:|.

It is a theory rather than an opinion.

Which is basically the same thing in this instance.

The whole experience is about buying the company of beautiful women. Money = power.

That's only how you view it. Others (both male and female) have voiced differing views. Feminists - The freedom to do what others tell you.

it's a widely held view amongst feminists

Which counts for nothing and is probably incorrect.

It ... is a theory.

No, it is an opinion.

The whole dungaree wearing, hairy, bulldog caricature is absurd.

Do give it a rest, it is called a stereotype, something that happens a lot with people and is usually meant as a bit of fun.

Seems like if you want to be a feminist, then you have to have had a humourostomy. Or are a total hypocrite.

Again, the true feminists of the 60s fought for the rights of women to do with their bodies as the pleased. Now that women have achieved this sexual freedom, extreme feminists want to restrict those hard won freedoms.:loopy:

why not be supportive of freedom of choice as it applies to anything else?

Because it is something she doesn't like other women doing.

Probably as they have never experienced the discrimination and degrading treatment that women of my generation had to put up with.

Surely that shows how equal men and women now are?

it's the places like Playboy and Hooters that I have issue with. Oh and Lads' mags

I don't like it so I want it banned:rolleyes:.

It's just harmless fun you see.

Not according to some on here:suspect:

So what's the thought on Chantelle Houghton using her body to promote good causes?

She should be banned.

She is everything that is wrong with society.

She is turning women into sex objects.

Well, that what some on here should view her as (if they are going to stay true to their previous posts). I, personally, don't really care.

So we're switching to 'freedom' now, is this the same freedom which prevents women from walking the streets without being sexually harassed?

Odd. Doesn't happen to my GF.

And your proof that strip clubs cause women to be sexually harassed in the streets is what?

As I understand it Egypt is one of the worst societies in the world as regard the sexual harassment of women as they attempt to go about their business. Yet Egypt is also a significantly less socially liberal society than ours.

If as you claim "strip bars" are the cause of sexual harassment how can this be?

Firstly, I'm not saying strip bars are the root and sole cause of sexual harrassment in this country. I said they contribute to the objectivism of women, which I said isn't a good thing. A number of women on here seem to agree with this point. Which is fair because they are the ones suffering and being harassed not men!

Lets get this straight, strip bars do nothing for social liberation. I haven't heard any evidence to the contrary.

Secondly, Comparing two different cultures and countries is completely pointless. I'm sure there are many reasons for sexual harassment in that particular country (egypt), culturally or otherwise. I doubt one of them is having more or less strip bars. I'm sure we could pick out another random country which has more strip bars than the UK and more sexual assaults. Doesnt prove a thing.

Just like to add, if you enjoy going to strip bars- fair enough, thats your choice but be honest and say you like looking at tits. We all know you're not doing it to further social liberation. ROFL.:hihi::hihi:

PS. I'd also like to add I'm not pro-feminist. I believe these places are relieving men of their cash and women of their dignity. Get rid of them we would all be much better off.

A couple have (but at least one of those is what I would class as an "extremist"). Even more have said they see nothing wrong with these places.

So I take it you missed the post about the student who worked in one of these places to pay for their university fees? That sounds like it has had a liberating effect for at least one person (they are liberated from the years of debt that would have beckoned otherwise).

Has anyone contributing to this discussion, or I wonder any of the protestors, ever been in a Playboy Club and actually experienced what goes on there ?

i very much doubt it !! as is seen by most of the standard feminist comments on here, if they had been in they would have seen basically an upmarket casino, a very good restaurant and various bars with drinks being served by gorgeous women, obviously for upmarket wealthy clients but (like MOS;)) what on earth is wrong with that:roll::roll:.........ah but the feminists think there is a hidden agenda here:loopy: when i started this thread i never imagined so much contribution but thanks:thumbsup::thumbsup: been very entertaining so far.

Not my cup of tea. Though I see no reason to impose my will on others from doing so. That way, dictatorship lies.

I don't see the point in stamp collecting, yet that too is an innocent pleasure.
