Gormenghast
Lastly, this myth that women earn shed loads of money in the sex industry is a myth. I know someone who earned £16,000 in 3 months pole dancing. A bit more than the minimum wage for cleaning.
TJC1
It's your opinion I'm asking questions about, can't you defend or at least explain it? Here's what you said in case you'd forgotten already. And here's what I'd like to know 1) do you know what pervert means 2) if so, how is a man who likes boobs a pervert 3) are women a race 4) how does exercising the freedoms that feminism won her set the cause back 5) did you really consider your opinion, or just post the first thing that popped into your head My opinion is that strip bars are bad for society, bad for women, bad for men. Look back over the thread I explained my viewpoint fully there. Infact there are many resaons why this is the case- highlighted by many people on this thread BACKING this argument. No substantial counter argument followed and thus those that opposed were reduced to de-constructing language in others posts, defeated and dejected, wallowing in wrongness... You're wrong.
Suffragette1
Can be defined as "an assumption based on limited information or knowledge; a conjecture." Best bin philosophy, psychology and sociology then as just a bunch of assumptions. Lastly, this myth that women earn shed loads of money in the sex industry is a myth. I know someone who earned £16,000 in 3 months pole dancing. A bit more than the minimum wage for cleaning. Hmm, two swallows (no pun or innuendo intended here) hardly make a summer. In every profession you will get people at the top end earning lots of money, your 'friend' is hardly representative of the average sex worker. The earning capacity of women in the industry is not the point, as far as I'm concerned.
Frank Sidney
Men in the sex industry earn much less than the women. Just a random fact..

Some of the biggest and successful porn studios, companies and web sites are owned and run by women who do it to make money mainly from men, so money plays a major role and is a legitimate point to consider. Where do you get your statistics showing the earnings of the average sex worker? and why do you dismiss it as "not the point"? And, since when did the Playboy Bunnies become classed as sex workers? Fake X I don't care who runs them, it is not what I am arguing about, in fact, I'm fed up of repeating myself and reiterating where my objections lie. For some reason so many people seem to think that if women own/manage/run aspects of the sex industry then it's somehow OK and some would even argue, feminist. Do some googling and read a few books about the sex industry to see how much the average sex worker earns. I'm not wasting my time looking up a bunch of stuff and posting links so that people on here can continue to spectacularly miss the point - again. Dear me, if the 'don't say anything unless you have something intelligent to say' rule were applied on SF there would be about a dozen posters. So by that statement you'll admit that the problem is not a male generated one and women are to blame for the situation as well? Lets clear that up first.. Lets clear that up first.. I never said that it was. The demand comes from men, obviously, the supply from women (and men). As I said many posts back, which came first? However, that still does not negate the theory that the sex industry has implications for women beyond it.
