Frank Sidney
Should Council house tenants have to leave their houses if they earn more than £100,000 p.a. in order that poorer people can be accommodated? No I don't think they should. Perhaps they shouldn't have been given one in the first place, but that's a different matter. It would become a nightmare to manage because people incomes can change. Then say if they were booted out; could they make a homeless claim, if say, their credit rating was poor so they couldn't get a mortgage or pass credit checks for a private landlord? Then there's, say a family, with five adults living in a 3 bed house, their combined income could easily be more than 100,00.

Cynic
Can you still buy your council house? If that scheme is going to stay in place then perhaps the could change the rules so that once the household income is at a certain level you have so long to purchase the house before you would be made to give it up.
