foxy lady
This seems to sum it up. You need to work at the figures because they are a positive and ngative rating. So 17% of respondents think Miliband is ready to become Prime Minister 69% think he isn't. http://www2.politicalbetting.com/index.php/archives/2011/05/26/how-ed-miliband-compares-with-previous-opposition-leaders/ The Ipsos-MORI data on Ed Miliband is getting a lot of coverage today and I thought that this chart puts the “ready to be PM” responses into an historical context. It shows the trend with all opposition leaders from Tony Blair onwards and, interestingly the man who was to lead Labour to three election victories had a positive rating of 59 to 28 six months after he took over the job. William Hague dropped to a low of 18% on this measure but that’s still ahead of today’s numbers for Miliband. His 17% level of agreement is at least one point higher than Iain Duncan Smith enjoyed a month before he lost the no confidence vote in October 2003. But on negative ratings today’s Ed Miliband 69% is higher than all of them. Cameron’s worst negative figure was 43%.
perplexed
The wrong brother won the Labour leadership election. I'd imagine that there's some resentment amongst the rank because of this.
Mecky
Ed Milliband's popularity ratings just don't seem to get any better. Despite the unpopularity of the government the people of this country just don't like Milliband. http://www.theoraclespeaks.net/politics/ed-miliband-snotty-unpopular-kid-school-poll/ Labour leader Ed Miliband is just like the snotty, unpopular kid at school who nobody likes, according to the results of a poll released yesterday. The poll, conducted by Ipsos Mori, found that just 36% of people interviewed were prepared to disagree with the sentiment that Mr Miliband was like that kid you had in your class who had no friends, and smelt suspiciously of wee. Surely if Milliband is so unpopular he isn't the man to lead Labour into the next General Election. What kind of a website is http://www.theoraclespeaks.net anyway? Longcol
What kind of a website is http://www.theoraclespeaks.net anyway? A "satirical" one by the look of it. Probably shows how many people on SF click on links - otherwise they'd have also seen (amongst other "stories"); "New Apple software to help pick kids up from school and run you a lovely bath, claims Jobs". and "Prime Minister cancels stand-up tour as joke falls flat". Rupert_Baehr
Well, if he sounded like Peter Sallis and if he had a dog, perhaps he would be more popular.

I think Labour have the right idea. Shoot the messenger and go into the next election with a real loser at the helm. It's what David would want them to do. http://www2.politicalbetting.com/index.php/archives/2011/05/26/how-ed-miliband-compares-with-previous-opposition-leaders/
