HATHER-SAGE Posted November 11, 2011 Share Posted November 11, 2011 Hello, I have a Ford Modeo LX 2001 where the bonnet locks and opens using the normal ignition key. It's been off the road for a while but started straight away, took it for an MOT today and they couldn't get the bonnet open. It's seized shut or something. So MOT got a refusal notice and I've been at it all day trying to get the thing open. I've made it worse and now probably needs a new locking mechanism. The garage said they'd have to smash it off and then rebuild it and it'd be kinda a big job. A locksmith place said it's the key, which it might of been but it's much worse than that now. Main priority is to get the bonnet open so an MOT can be done. I don't mind a bit of rough handling to get it done but obviously want to create as little damage as possible and if it can be bodged just to pass the MOT then we're sorted.
