Should we change a name for a film?

Recommended Posts

Wouldn't it just be easier to leave the dog out of the film altogether? It's not like it's crucial to the plot.

My understanding is that the dog's name was also the codeword that was used to signify on the radio that the attack had been a success.

Now they`ve changed the name, it is now not the story of Guy Gibson. Shame.

The name of Gibson's dog is incidental to the part he played in bombing German dams. To claim it's no longer his story because they renamed the dog is silly.

If I remember the old film correctly, after the dog in question was run over didn't they name part of the operation after him?

There's ways 'round this dilema. They could rename the dog Blacky. Or include an Affro-Caribbean airman and let him say the word whenever it was needed.

By the way I'm with Chris Rock on the definition of the n word.
