One lucky man though, well many lucky people as the spectators and track crew are all ok as well.

Obelix
I'm sure Ayrton Senna would be delighted. That someone walked away from a crash? I'm sure he would be. Your point being?

Phanerothyme
No I mean I'm sure Ayrton Senna would be delighted that his death directly contributed to road safety - as it must have done if the OP is correct.

I'm not sure that flying bits of metal smashing into the driver's skull at high speed is a probably incident in general road travel. After all, it was a collossally freakish accident even on the racetrack.
Phanerothyme
I'm certain lessons were learned by Williams. It would be a poor show if they weren't.

After all, it was a collossally freakish accident even on the racetrack. One of the more common accidents on motorways is lorry wheels detatching themselves and crashing into oncoming cars. Today's vehicles are able to withstand that far better than those built only 10 years ago.
Eater Sundae
Max Moseley got lots of bad publicity following 'Nazidungeongate', but his organisation should be commended for the Euroncap crash testing which has improved road cars. IMO, the improvement in racing car safety is a separate issue.
