Tony Erikson
Not really but it could happen soon. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-13740639 Was just reading this story about a drinks company educating pregnant women on the dangers of alcohol. Why do we need a private company to do this? If alcohol's so bad why not ban it or refuse to treat a drunk mother to be? As one person in the article has said, it's a small minority of mothers to be that drink why not educate people about domestic violence or set up more shelters for victims of alcohol related abuse. What's worrying though is that this will be the new business trend. It won't be long before dentists are telling us soft drinks are fine for our teeth whilst receiving a payout from a soft drink company. Will this mean companies can now easily shirk responsibility. If they build a community centre will they get tax breaks and perhaps be allowed to stretch a few rules in their favour?
taxman
Maybe tobacco companies could be paid to go into schools and warn about the dangers of smoking.
