US Citizen Accused Of Being Israeli Spy

Recommended Posts

He probably had a British passport too

-----------

A Jewish American man has been arrested in Egypt, accused of being a spy working for Israel's intelligence agency.

The alleged agent, named as Ilan Grappel, was arrested in Egypt on Sunday, and previously served in the Second Lebanon War in the Israel Defence Forces.

The authorities claim that Mr Grappel attended major protests in Tahir Square working as an agent for Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency.

Cairo's Tahrir Square was the epicenter of the revolt against former president Hosni Mubarak, who was forced to step down after 30 years in power.

Egyptian officials claim that Mr Grappel attended major protests and incited demonstrators to commit violence in order to provoke a confrontation with the military "and spread chaos in the Egyptian public and harm the state's political, economic and social interests".

Why would the Mossad have any ambitions to cause the downfallof Hosni Mubarak. Mubarak was the only Arab leader to sign a peace accord with Israel and the two countries existed in peace for decades after.

Your post is **** eyed and makes no sense whatsoever

There's absolutely nothing wrong in highlighting Israeli terrorism.

Why not highlight muslim terrorism which is prevalent worldwide and which in most cases, is not relevant to the situation with Israel?

Israel has a lot to teach potential terrorists, as its state sponsoned terrorism is a good model to follow, with their efficient assisanation squads waorking worldwide, playing judge and jury, and love their target practice on small children in the prison camp of Ghaza, they provide a real challange as they move unpredictably, and we all know will grow up to be terrorists.

So Mecky pointing fingers at others while murdering and subverting to deflect attention to others is an infantile game. Grow up and accept reality for what it is and not what you want others to think it is!

as Harleyman points out, Israel had no motive to destablise the Mubarak's regime - though he didn't sign the peace accord with Israel - it was his predessessor Sadat. Also Jordan signed a similar peace accord with the Israelis in 1994.

Israel has no motive to destablise any of its neighbours, and especially Egypt, except - possibly - the Palestinians.

obviously though Mossad will employ intelligence people in all of its neighbours countries, just like everyone else does, and whether they are their allies or their enemies. Obviously we have no way of knowing whether this story is legit or not, but choosing an Israeli with dual American nationality does seem rather stupid for an Egyptian mission, when there are millions of Israelis that can pass for Arabs and who have over the years been Israel's most successful spies.
