And was it a massacre of unarmed civilians, or a battle won by overwhelming force? I'm not saying these were good things, but you are painting them in an uncharacteristically uneven light. Seems to me all the bullets are getting fired from one side only and the heretic (to Sunnis) Assad Allawites are backed by Shia Iran of course. The major Sunni powers, Turkey and Egypt, are surely just content to watch and wait and the last thing either of them would want to do is back any Syrian Muslim Brotherhood. It's conceivable that if they do start shooting, the anti-Allawites might be getting stuff over from Iraq, but even the Saudis wouldn't want to back Islamic fundamentalism in Syria surely.
