jasmineamber
Hi, just noticed that my tyres on my ford ka are different size. 165/70/r13 x2 on rear of car and 165/65/r13 x2 on front. is this safe and/or legal? thanks
Leah-Lacie
Is the 65 and 70 the width? I've forgotten all about tyre sizes, but if its the width I shouldn't see there being a problem.... A lot of people have a spare wheel smaller than their others, and still drive fine after changing it so I should think it would be safe.

shand1
165 is the tyre width in millimetres. 70 is the aspect ratio, or in other words, section height in relation to width % . or to put it another way, the sidewall height is 70% of 165millimetres. 13 is rim diameter in inches. As long as they are the same size on the same axle, there shouldn't be a problem, so in your case you should be ok, but when the tyres wear out, i would renew them so that all the tyres are the same size!
