lynsey82
So I'm not a particularly intelligent woman but not a thicky either and am finding it hard to get my head around why business has dropped off so badly in the last few months? It seemed things economy wise were starting to get better but now there's nothing out there! How long is this likely to carry on?
JFKvsNixon
When people are not confident that they'll keep their jobs, they'll save and pay debts off. When people cannot see themselves losing their jobs, they'll spend and borrow. When people aren't spending money on goods and services this has a knock on effect of putting other people's jobs at risk and the cycle continues until confidence improves. INTERVIEWER
Any spare money the government has is being sent to super wealthy countries (with nuclear weapons and space programmes) as international 'development' aid, and the cost of bombing nations we don't like is spiralling. There is no money left to support our own people. Welcome to the warped reality of the Conservative party.

taxman
Inflation is at 5%. There's a wage freeze. Gas and electricity bills are set to soar. People therefore have less money in their pockets and so have cutback on spending.

WeX
Labour were taking us out of the recession...now this shower are taking us back into one....but only deeper.. in fact the labour government had only just got the uk out of a recession that lasted longer then our competitors. labour mismanaged the entire problem by at first ignoring it, denying it and then blaming it on everyone else. the uk's gdp is currently in growth, so the current government is doing the opposite to what you claim. http://www.statistics.gov.uk/cci/nugget.asp?id=192 this is also subject to change though.
