Garage at the bottom of Jenkin rd

Recommended Posts

I can't think of one. Mind you I've only been around since 1981. I'll ask my dad for you. Which bottom of Jenkin? Shiregreen end or brightside end? It wasn't between Brightside school and what was the White swan was it. I seem to recall a business of some sorts being there. X

Im not sure if it was a repair garage or just garages where you could park your car, but i do know the guy that owned it used to charge rent for them over 20 years ago. Im trying to find out the guys name and where he lived or anything about him or his family.

The garage near the loads of garages on the old tip - mentioned above was Amblers from memory - neighbouring shops included Bygraves fruit and veg and a butchers i think? Hope this helps. Amblers' postal adress would have been Wincobank Avenue at the bottom of what was then Clematis Road.
