Does anyone know a Stuart Rawson of Sheffield b. 1970? I'm trying to establish whether we have a common ancestor called Arthur Rawson, 1893, to prove whether or not I'm on the right track.

Hi mandyjf - the births index confirms that a Stuart Ian Rawson was born in Sheffield in Jan-Mar 1970. The 2004 electoral roll lists only one Stuart I. rawson in the UK, at an address in Doncaster. PM me if you'd like the address..

Stuart Rawson, who lives in Doncaster, was born in Jessops in January 1970 and Arthur could be his Great Grandad.

Wasn,t Rawson a well to do family back in the 1800s?,someone put me right if I am wrong!.I recollect down Liversey Street known as Birley Meadows was refered to also as Rawsons Meadow and I think the family had a big house somewhere in the region between the Five Arches and Radio Hallams studios position now!.
