Wanting to eat meat would vastly increase the space required; possibly so much so as to make the whole project unworkable, if indeed it's workable to begin with. Many second generation families haven't contributed anything let alone work. Going off the grid doesn't necessarily mean you have to isolate yourself from humanity completely.
