Car brake problems

Recommended Posts

You cannot be serious, never, ever take anything to Kwik fit, They don't do anything for nothing and will tell you you have serious problems and charge you 3 figures. Take it to honest mechanic such as Ian Kelly - Halifax Road, tel: 0114 285 2480 or 07976265034

This is true. Free test, but then if they find a fault, they are required by law not to release the car until it is repaired, by them, at some stupid price.

Warped discs but thats not the only thing thats warped!

You would have to be warped getting advice off this forum for something as serious as brakes many here cant tie their own shoe laces never mind give advice on brakes.

Get it to someone who knows what their doing and that doesnt include Kwik fit!

Since I don't simply want a mechanic for doing this single job, but a more permanant solution for all our car problems. Could you guys recommend a reputable mechanic/garage more closer to pudsey, bradford, leeds?

Thanks very much

I know someone who recommends use of Bosch Service Centres, a quick check states there's one approx half a mile from 'pudsey', in Stanningley, Leeds.

Take the vehicle to a reputable garage in your area, the pulsating is definatley the brake discs,it needs to go on a brake tester with a low pressure applied to the brake pedal and you will see the meter fingers moving around indicating one or more discs warped, remember don't let morons play with your brakes it could cost lives including yours.Stay away from quick fits you will be ripped off.Oh and my credentials are that I worked for Girling brakes for a few years, enough said.

I don't believe that your problem is the first ever occurence of it. Try googling it and see specialist motoring forums. If this doesn't give you a solution, there's a scheme called the "Good Garage Scheme" (or some such title) - find a garage near you and let them take a look at it.

Failing that, why not have a look at SF's sister site for Leeds and see if they can suggest somewhere.

I dont wish to sound off but the Good garage scheme is no recomendation its a scheme run by Forte addatives to promote and sell their products and is not a bonafide professional institution.

Bullerboy is correct, the good garage scheme is about marketing, not standards.
