alchresearch
I think it just sounds very "Trek Next Generation-ish" rather than being actual music.

I was thinking Next Generation as well, originally. But you don't think it is from it, just similiar?
Karis
It is definitely not from The Next Generation or any Star Trek. It's probably an original piece, although they do like using themes from movies...
Donkey lover
Sorry loob but its definitely NOT Jurassic park. Very similar but just off enough so that the composer can claim it as an original score! What it actually is I have no idea!

Grandad.Malky
It's probably an original piece, although they do like using themes from movies... At the start I thought it had a hint of “Close encounters”
L00b
Sorry loob but its definitely NOT Jurassic park. Very similar but just off enough so that the composer can claim it as an original score!I know what you mean (probably the first 5 or 6 notes are identical, but not the rest), however it is still distinctive enough to have reminded me straight away of the Jurassic Park score (despite not having seen the film in years). In terms of liability, the composer may claim whatever he wants about originality until he is blue in the face, but those first few notes would likely still be deemed to constitute a "substantial part" of the work (this is a legal test) and, therefore, constitute infringement. There is ample precedent, even a case wherein a mere two notes were sufficient for a finding of infringement
