crookesey
Was he on at the Cavendish with Max Bygraves?.. Wasn't it Max who used to say "I wanna tell you a story?" Well I would love to tell the story of the Cavendish's opening night, 44 years ago. However knowing me aged 20, I was most probably on the pull in the Go-Go Room or the Latino Lounge, I don't even know if I went, all I can say is that I never saw Max Bygraves, thank god. SILLY
Feel sure it was either the Cavendish or Heartbeat just before or around 1966 . Penny farthing was a good bit later. Edited July 5, 2011 by SILLY
Jim Hardie
The Kevan I recall was born late 40's and he went to Newfield, he became mates with George Webster also a Newfield lad who'd previously been at Carfield. I don't see how George could have been at Newfield Duffems. He went to Owler Lane Intermediate in 1960 and then Hinde House from 1963. Carfield Juniors would be right as he lived at Meersbrook. DUFFEMS
I don't see how George could have been at Newfield Duffems. He went to Owler Lane Intermediate in 1960 and then Hinde House from 1963. Carfield Juniors would be right as he lived at Meersbrook. It may be a different George Webster but, the one I recall went to Carfield Junior & Secondary (as it was called then). When Carfield closed in 1962 the pupils were transferred to Newfield which is where Kevan was. May be different George & Kevan. Only wondered as I only recall them from school not in later years. Anyway, only a passing comment so, back to original post. Edited July 6, 2011 by DUFFEMS
