After searching through many books and websites we have not found any one definition to burlesque, so this show is out contribution the the many definitions all in one show. There is no nudity so men ya can bring your other halves, she will have nothing to complain about. the show is lots of singing dancing and entertainment in a beautiful venue with a unique but fitting atmosphere only at bar abbey. This show is the one and only of its kind in Sheffield. So dont miss out. You're going to alienate the majority of the burlesque scene by making statements like that. If you attended any of the local shows, you'd know that there is a mixture of acts, from fully clothed, to skimpier outfits, to gorilla costumes, to nipple tassels and merkins. So you're not the only act in the area that don't tassel. I'm fully aware of what a "boston" version of a burlesque show is, thanks. What you're doing is a dance revue - good luck with it. BurlesqueShf Posted July 25, 2011 Author Share Posted July 25, 2011 thankyou all so much for your comments just to let you know our show was a huge success with just over 100 people turning up and out of all the comment forms we only had 3 negative out of 90 so i would say that we have done pretty well despite all the negative attitudes aimed at us.
