Mecky
OK I won't start a thread with just a link. "Muslims or non-Muslims", can give emergency aid as long as they have "no hidden agenda". http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-14046267 Whether aid is withheld to put pressure on the government or where only specific aid is acceptable providing their is no hidden agenda, it's truly shocking. Whichever way you look at it, it's not good.

Why would they want the nasty infidel now? Surely a bit of prayer would sort it? Or do they now not have faith?
mj.scuba
Ah Al-Shabab. How good of them to allow the non-Muslims to deliver vital aid to their people.
Mecky
So where do hidden agendas come into it? Perhaps they put files and saw blades in the pies they baked?
Tony Erikson
So where do hidden agendas come into it? Helping their fellow human beings regardless of beliefs or race?
melthebell
So where do hidden agendas come into it? Perhaps they put files and saw blades in the pies they baked? come on man its in your own link Al-Shabab imposed the ban in 2009, accusing them of being anti-Muslim. all it is is the ramblings of a paranoid extremist controlling organisation, im not 100% sure what the lifting of the ban will mean tho, maybe they know they need outside and help and opening up slightly but STILL trying to stamp some authority on it, hence the no hidden agendas bit? chem1st
NATO air forces are nearby, operating in Libya, helping out the Libyan people. Maybe they could help the Somalian people by dropping food parcels. Dropping food on Somalia would be cheaper than bombing Libya too! We have forces off of the coast, near Yemen. The logistics are in our favour. How much is it costing to bomb Libya?
mapleboy
Hmm, don't think I'll be doing any donating, someone might be offended and that would never do. You sow the PC-wind and reap the PC-whirlwind...

You sow the PC-wind and reap the PC-whirlwind... You might not have any choice in the matter, we sent £36m in aid to Ethiopia the other day. Do we now send a similar amount to Somalia, what if the Jihadis trying to overthrow the government get their filthy hands on it?
