Sausage Dog
A number of companies have already withdrawn their advertising from News of the World. These include Halifax, Co-op, Vauxhall, Butlins, Virgin Holidays and Ford. Others are considering their position. How about helping them along by phoning their press office and saying that you’ll boycott their products if they continue to advertise in Murdoch’s grubby rag. Damaging their commercial interests is the only language these big companies understand. Here are some of the biggest players. Obelix
Oh I dunno it seems a not unreasonable strategy. Provided they are gien fair chance to stop advertising I can see a lot of people going for it.

Doingalright
I will continue to buy the news of the world. Its only the latest episode with millie Dowler that is of any seriousness and importance, and even that wont stop most people from buying the paper. Most people are not really bothered. As for the celebs having their phones hacked and the info that was obtained NOT even published, boo hoo

As for the celebs having their phones hacked and the info that was obtained NOT even published, boo hoo No doubt a lot of celebs are trying to get press releases into the papers about their phone being hacked. That's how it works isn't it?
Mecky
Like I said earlier, NOTW will be looking for a fall guy to take the rap, preferably one who acted on his own initiative without paying attention to the NOTW formal policies ... if you know what I mean. andygardener
A bit daft that really, Its no reflection on them how some at NOTW behave. It reflects on them if they continue to pay to advertise in the rag after all of the relevations have been made. "boycotting" the NoTW is pointless, the sort of people who read it won't know it did anything wrong as they rely on it for "news". Targetted campaigns against advertisers hit them where it hurts, in the wallet.
