harvey19
Does anyone know when the houses on Holgate Road and roundabouts were built ? Was it in the mid 1950s ?
hillsbro
It must have been the 1950s, at least the steel houses. The road doesn't appear in a 1940s directory, and this photo on picturesheffield.com dates from the 1950s.

denlin
The steel houses were built in the 1930's as temporary accommodation, they were pulled down in 1970s I think or could have been early eighties. They were certainly there when we moved up here in 1955

Jacko 1
I believe the brick houses you refer too were built in the 1940's during and after the war, a lady I knew moved into her property about 1946 ish sadly she is no longer with us, there are still people living on the roads who have been there a rather long time maybe not as long as when the house's first went up but I am sure they maybe able to help you. TEDMUNKS
We moved into 84 Holgate Road in April 1948, and were the first tenants. I was 4 years old at the time and coming from the Moorhead area was amazed at the green fields and the Hartley Brook.
