2pac
By feeding them - and since we can't do that directly, donating to the appropriate agencies that can, yes. Are we not just making the situation worse by giving money? As so much of it ends up supplying the killers with food fuel ammo drugs and guns? Halibut
In short 'why'? Because it's a moral imperative not to let children starve to death.

Halibut
But we are feeding and supplying the killers of these kids, with our donations. That there have been some problems with aid not reaching it's target isn't a reason to stop giving aid. You have no evidence whatsoever that donations aimed at helping in the current crisis are being used to by guns.
superted666
I think most the issues have been highlighted... - Overpopulation - War (all types) - Corruption Question is, if the AID we give through the western organisations are not going to help Africa out of this hole (long term) then what can we do? Aside from re-colonisation I can't see what on earth we can do to help these people?

If they are poor and can't afford food, where else does the money to buy the guns come from?

A proviso on giving aid should be that proof is seen where previous donations have gone and how they have been used. If donations have been used inappropriately in the past future aid should be closely scrutinised as to exactly how it will all be used before it is given. Some problems:roll: every penny anyone gives to aid helps the people that caused the problem. It also gives a real incentive to continue in the same way forever. By giving aid we are helping kill kids.
