The UN on Wednesday said that parts of Somalia were suffering a famine after the worst drought in 60 years. A spokesman for al-Shabab, which has ties to al-Qaeda and controls much of the country, accused aid groups of being political. As hard line Islamists, I'm sure they will also accept that natural disasters are punishments from God. I wonder if they are capable of self examination and questioning whether they have incurred God's wrath? Haven't you noticed the common denominator in all this? They knock out babies year after year and sell their livestock to buy arms instead of feeding their own and we're supposed to pick up the tab for feeding their dependents. Don't send aid in my name!
