Drought in the Horn of Africa?

Recommended Posts

BIRTH CONTROL is needed, the less kids they have the more they get to eat,the fitter they could be. why dont the government divert the money earmarked to india. No donations from me, i remember asking my mum in early 50's for the school collections. I started donating in the 60's - I'm retired now, enough is enough

We can't stop money to india, how will they manage to buy up more of our companys.

And no matter how much aid we send they'll be back next you with the begging bowl.

When Band Aid relief arrived in Ethiopia the local transport cartels tried to extort massive amounts of money to transport it.

What's the answer Bassman? You seem to be an expert on these matters.

Africa is not a poor continent it is poorly run, until we see the aid being distributed properly all aid should be stopped and all aid should be given and distribtued in kind.

If they can't run their countries properly they should hand over the reins.

Nearly all countries that gained independence were left in a sound state

You name me countries that are a success since independence.

There aren't that many.

The main reason being the corruption. Politicians and the army are extremely corrupted and they want to keep the power at any cost (by the way they are supported by the west, the same west that gives democracy lesson to Irak, Iran because they don't serve their interests).

If you take African countries, the colonisation has ruined their economy and agriculture because they were basically giant agricultural lands for Europe. The products grown on their land were the ones European population needed and liked (cacao, coffee) and not the ones that local African populations needed. Over the years and after such an extreme exploitation the soil has changed it's nature and it is extremely difficult to grow something else than the exportation products for Europe.
