caparo
Could/Should Britain change to driving on the right hand side of the road? Should we fall into line with the 2/3 of the world that drives on the right, or are we right and them wrong? Even if we wanted to change, could we afford to swap over? smithy266
we could trial it: buses and lorries for instance, and if that works, extend it to cars too.

Longcol
we could trial it: buses and lorries for instance, and if that works, extend it to cars too. So we'd have buses and lorries driving head on at cars
Jeffrey Shaw
dont forget cyclists Irrelevant; none of the rules of the road seems to apply to them anyway.
HeadingNorth
What exactly would be the point? It would make life easier for people who travel both here and on the continent. However, the costs involved would run into hundreds of billions - if not trillions; it isn't just a matter of all driving on the other side starting tomorrow. Roundabouts and junctions would all have to be rebuilt; all buses would have to be scrapped because people would find themselves getting on and off from in the middle of the road; roadsigns moved from one side to the other; it is an impossibly huge undertaking.
