Happ Hazzard
It isn't possible. The last developed country to do it was Sweden in 1967. There were a lot less people and less cars on the road in Sweden 44 years ago than there are in Britain today.
shanes teeth
It would make life easier for people who travel both here and on the continent. However, the costs involved would run into hundreds of billions - if not trillions; it isn't just a matter of all driving on the other side starting tomorrow. Roundabouts and junctions would all have to be rebuilt; all buses would have to be scrapped because people would find themselves getting on and off from in the middle of the road; roadsigns moved from one side to the other; it is an impossibly huge undertaking. Yes,but they could do it bit by bit.Starting at the Channel ports they could aim to do,say 50 miles per year, with change over points as the work progresses. It could be funded by weighing in all the obsolete road signs as they went along.I can't see any problems with it in my imagination. They'd have to change all the McDonalds drive-throughs to anticlockwise..... or give us longer arms........ or even better...... close McDonalds:)

You initiated the 'weighing-in of-obsolete-road-signs' idea.
anywebsite
They all only started driving on the wrong side of the road to be anti-British anyway. Everyone else should change. Even if everything was changed & macdonalds drive throughs were anti-clockwise, then you'd need to use your left hand for the burgers. Eating burgers left handed on the drive home must be dangerous too.
Doingalright
Could/Should Britain change to driving on the right hand side of the road? Should we fall into line with the 2/3 of the world that drives on the right, or are we right and them wrong? Even if we wanted to change, could we afford to swap over? What does it matter that most of the rest of the world drive on the right hand side? At the end of the day we're an island, so there isn't the issue of driving to Britain on the right and then switching to the left once in Britain. Mind you the police would have a field day for booking folk who drove through re lights that they couldn't see.

It does tend to confuse foreigners coming here though. It is a well known fact that they are not as adaptable and open minded as we are.I think it would be money well spent, especially for MacDonalds.Manys the time I've seen French registered Renaults trying to reverse through the MacDonalds drive through in Dover. It's utter carnage at busy times. Why not signs in French "Entre" and "Sortie". Is it too much for the city of Dover and McDs to stick up signs here and there in another language. If the Canadians can signpost their highways and cities in French and English 3,000 miles east to west then posting signs for foreign drivers to make it easier for them to navigate the town and reach the motorways might improve traffic and tempers at the same time.
