Obelix
"Rebekah Brooks, chief executive of News International, has resigned, the company has confirmed." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14166162 Pushed or shoved? or decided to go because it was the decent thing to do? who knows. I'm just wondering now have much more unraveling this has to go - could Murdoch himself be feeling a little uncomfortable?

evildrneil
Her position has been untenable for a while - it was only a matter of time before she jumped or was pushed...
taxman
I'm sure she'll get another job within Murdoch's Empire.
alchresearch
Very easily. Just offer your resignation, lay low for a while then creep back in. How many times did Peter Mandelson do it?
evildrneil
I'm sure she'll get another job within Murdoch's Empire. Or with The Met?
Longcol
She must be upset that the Harry Potter films are finished - she would have made an excellent Bellatrix LeStrange
Jeffrey Shaw
Could anyone explain how it's possible to offer to resign and have that offer rejected? Employee either resigns or doesn't resign. Acceptance by employer is irrelevant, surely?
Phanerothyme
Er no, you offer your resignation - and it may be accepted or rejected. You do this if you'd rather not leave so you are abrogating the decision to your employer. Or, you give your resignation and leave. That is an unequivocal decision to resign made by you. Fishcake
I wonder if she will sign on! It is a terrible time to be unemployed and I feel sorry for her. Honest.
