Attestant
desperatedan is right to be concerned. We are now living in temporary accommodation while the insurance sorts out the fire damage. Yes, our 6-year old Bosch dishwasher caught fire! Fortunately no-one was hurt. We saw the Bosch Safety/Repair Action notice in the paper a few months ago. We rang Bosch on the number given and were told our dishwasher was not on the list. After the fire, the insurers found out from Bosch this was a mistake - it was on the list. If you have a Bosch, Neff or Siemens branded dishwashers produced between 1999 and early 2005, then you should read this notice at http://bit.ly/taROZy or go to http://bit.ly/oEAE9V where you can check if your dishwasher is on the Repair Action list. And don't forget to check your smoke alarms are working. They could save your life!
swordfish1
I've got a Bosch dishwasher, washing machine and fridge. All of them bought when I got this house 10 years ago. All working perfectly still (wish I'd not said that, kiss of death). Wouldn't buy another brand. I am going to check that link though.
