manofstrad
You will know from your history books that Sheffield's Captains of Industry have all settled in Dore Bets? How about the current Master Cutler - one William Blake Speirs. Director of a number of companies - I think he'd qualify as a "Captain of Industry". http://www.cutlers-hallamshire.org.uk/html/the-company-today/annual-review-20092010/william-blake-speirs-master-cutler-elect/ Now does he live in Dore? No - Calver, http://www.levelbusiness.com/doc/person/uk/01319635 He will settle in Dore they all do. Now, about those links you were going to provide? Longcol
He will settle in Dore they all do. He quite clearly hasn't despite all opportunities. Another "captain of industry" who hasn't settled in Dore - the current President of the Chamber of Commerce. http://www.scci.org.uk/page/show/79 http://uk.linkedin.com/pub/yuri-matischen/10/a22/44 Lives in S36 (not Dore) http://www.192.com/atoz/people/matischen/yuri/ I used to know the guy who ran SR Gents - he has a big place near Bolsterstone (not Dore). denlin
I met the then Master Cutler and the Lord Mayor when I was 15 and office Junior at Sheffield Chamber of commerce which had it's offices above the Cutlers Hall. I remember going down back stairs to fetch sandwiches from Davys on Fargate and ine of the balcony doors into Cutlers hall was open and the tables were laid out for cutlers feast - I have never seen so much silver in one place Master Cutler that year was Anthony Hampton, sorry had to google it because it was 45 years ago and I've had a few sleeps since then

The Joker
We'll never give S17 back to Derbyshire. Not only do we need the income their Band H homes generate, but we also need their high-performing schools to keep Sheffield's GCSE results looking respectable. THANK YOU S17, I LOVE YOU. YOU'VE CARRIED US THROUGH ONE RECESSION, PLEASE WORK HARDER AND DO IT AGAIN
