moopind
Does anyone in Sheffield provide a service where they put edging on carpet offcuts to make rugs/runners? It's carpet with that hessian kind of backing.
medusa
If it's a small run needed you can do it manually if you trust your needlework skills and can get some matching yarn in a hardwearing mix and a decent 3 edged needle.
moopind
Thanks, but I'm really not great at needlework! I'd like to do it myself, but I'd make a mess, there'd be blood...
shirleyF
The shop from which you purchased your carpet should be able to do it free.
GrannyGranny
WE got ours done at a carpet shop on Broadfield Rd. Can't remember the name but there can't be that many along there. We bought a roll end of decent quality carpet and had it edged, result is a decent rug for peanuts.

GrannyGranny
Was it Mintons, perhaps? That might have been the one. My wife sorted it all (as usual) but I think Mintons was mentioned. It was about 5 years ago but its still in our lounge and has survived despite having 3 kids and regular visits from my M in L's dog who likes chewing rugs! marv75
Was it Mintons, perhaps? The shop your referring to is called 'The Carpet Workshop'.
Uptowngirl
I can't remember the name but they used to do that at the bed shop just off Ecclesall Road at Greystones. I think it was Blair Athol Road.
