It was first done, that I can remember, in about 1952. It's been commonplace ever since; the occasion you're thinking of is just the time that someone got caught suggesting it. Shape shifting lizards landed in Leeds and ate all the pies - although I'm reliably informed this happens every time 9 is divisible by 11. And don't forget the indiscriminate slaughter of woolly backs on the Wirral by rampaging Scousers which only happens when the month has 4 or more letters (in May the local superstition is brown can't be poured over bitter). David Cameron may or may not have changed his undercrakers and Boris Johnson had a flat tyre whilst performing a strange sexual act with a dwarf.
