Classic Rock
National Express is probably your cheapest, but longest journey.

dieselbabe
I go on line and use Nation express when i go to visit my friend in Newport.Price differs not sure if it when you book, but every time my friend who comes with me has paid £8 £9 and also £20.It did take a good 6hrs or you can cut that by half hour if you get the faster bus.But if you are disabled have a bus pass or even prof you are by showing your DLA papers it works out cheaper also lowest i have paid is £4.50 one way. HeadingNorth
The absolute cheapest would be to use Megabus and get a bus into London then change for Sheffield. But it's a very long way round on a slow service. National Express, is you book far enough in advance to be reasonably cheap, is probably a better option unless money is desperately tight.
